July 18 & 19, 2009
for the New Jersey Sport Kite Championships
Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ

Come watch some of the nation's most amazing kite fliers in competition.

International Competitors, Grand Masters, and Master Kite fliers will be flying choreographed routines.  Some will fly to music, some will fly in precision. All routines are astounding!  Novice Kite Fliers, young and old, will impress you with their new found skills and determination to grow into a master flier.

As a Kite Flier, you deserve to treat yourself to an inspiring weekend in one of the most spectacular places to fly.  With the New York City skyline as a backdrop, fly with us on the Green Lawn area and see Lady Liberty watching over the competition field.

Liberty State Park offers a flying field like no other in the world.  Its 1,120 acres along the Hudson River waterfront in New Jersey lie within 2000 feet of the Statue of Liberty and less than ¼ mile from Ellis Island.  Liberty State Park has become one of the most visited urban state parks in the nation with nearly two million visitors a year.

This year marks the 18th year for the New Jersey Sport Kite Championships (NJSKC).  The event originated in Sandy Hook for the first five years.  Subsequently it moved to Belmar, then to Liberty State Park (near the train station), followed by Wildwood.  In 2003, it moved back to Liberty State Park with a new home on the Green Lawn under the direction of the Liberty High Spirits.

Liberty High Spirits of 14B: Founded by a group of friends that later became a family, LHSO14B is a group of kitefliers who gather at Liberty State Park to engage in the fun of kite flying.  The Spirits encourage interested individuals from all walks of life to "come hang with us."  Feel free to join our newsgroup at: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/LHSO14B
